IT Support Engineer

180 per day

Overview

A long term opportunity has become available for an experienced Level 2 IT Support Engineer to join a large scientific and research environment in Stevenage. This is a full time onsite role supporting a busy estate of more than 8000 PCs globally.

You will be providing hands on support for users, imaging and onboarding new devices, resolving hardware and software issues and ensuring equipment remains secure and fully operational. The role suits someone confident with Windows support, device builds, hardware troubleshooting and day to day deskside activity.

What you will be doing
  • Supporting users with PC, laptop and peripheral issues
  • Imaging and onboarding new computers into the domain
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software faults
  • Securing and protecting new and existing equipment
  • Maintaining accurate asset and stock records
  • Working with scientific teams to support data flows for laboratory equipment
  • Assisting users with queries and equipment requests
  • Ensuring all devices remain compliant with internal standards
What you will need
  • Strong Level 2 support experience
  • Hands on background with imaging, rebuilding and configuring devices
  • Confident troubleshooting hardware faults
  • Good understanding of Windows, Active Directory and Office 365
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK
  • Availability to start in December
