Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs to process plant with the Department Engineering Lead.
  • Perform troubleshooting and practical fault finding on systems.
  • Install new plant or modifications as necessary.
  • Conduct planned inspection routes and proactive maintenance.
  • Undertake maintenance activities and testing in preparation for operations.
  • Report all engineering activities into the CMMS.

Electrical and Instrumentation technician / Norfolk / Permanent - salary 53,642K per annum.

Position 1 Recruitment are looking for

Electrical and Instrumentation technician

to join our client, manufacturing site based in Norfolk. Our client is a leading producer for the food and beverage market, and due to the ongoing growth, they are looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation technician to join their friendly engineering team.

Applicants must be UK residents with unrestricted working rights, sponsorship is not available.

Electrical and Instrumentation technician will be supporting process operations and maintenance activities across a large, complex industrial site with a variety of motors, instruments and voltages.

This role may cover shift (including nights) or day-based activities dependent upon site requirements.

Reporting to the Engineering Lead, this role will carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with Department Engineering Lead and department technicians to carry out repairs to process plant
  • Troubleshooting and practical fault finding on plant and electrical / instrumentation / control systems
  • Installation of new plant or modifications as appropriate
  • Carry out planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenance
  • During maintenance periods undertake maintenance activities as well as testing and commissioning plant in readiness for operations
  • Electrical tasks such as 3 phase electrical distribution in from 24V DC to 11kV AC, installation work, instrumentation and calibrations, maintenance and fault finding in a heavy industrial environment
  • Reporting of all engineering activities in the appropriate format into the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Making plant safe for maintenance / repairs
  • Competent to receive and / or authorise a range of permits as required.

Electrical and Instrumentation technician will have comprehensive technical knowledge and hands on skills gained through large scale, complex operational factory experience. Recognised engineering qualifications, NVQ level 3 in Electrical Engineering supported by a recognised apprenticeship. The successful candidate will have understanding of hazards and controls associated with a complex industrial environment and producing food and feed.
