Job description

Job Title: Infrastructure, Governance & Improvement Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:
  • Delivering the Site Engineering Transformation programme & managing the schedule
  • Developing and executing strategic plans to enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Driving standardisation and optimisation of infrastructure engineering practices across departments
  • Establishing performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to track progress and impact of initiatives
  • Leading a small team of engineers
Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Nationally recognised higher qualification in a STEM subject (or equivalent through experience), coupled with demonstrable line management capability.
  • Proven experience in driving improvement and operational excellence, with expertise in Lean/Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred) or other improvement methodologies
  • Ability to develop and maintain complex Excel models, dashboards, and automated reporting from multiple data sources, leveraging advanced formulas and functions, with high level analytical and problem solving skills

Desirable:

  • Eligibility for or attainment of Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with clear route to attaining Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
  • ISO 9001, 14001 or 45001 Lead Auditor Qualified
