Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Analyst – Storage to join an established Platform team. This role provides hands‑on technical expertise to support, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within a complex enterprise infrastructure environment. The position focuses on VMware‑based platforms, Cisco UCS infrastructure, and modern storage technologies, contributing to the stability, resilience, and continuous improvement of production services.

What you will do:

• Independently troubleshoot and resolve production service incidents, escalating to senior engineers where required.
• Undertake technical activities including patching, storage allocation, backup configuration, and script maintenance.
• Support VMware environments, including vSphere, vRealize Operations Manager, Site Recovery Manager, and related management tools.
• Administer and support enterprise infrastructure platforms such as Cisco UCS, vSAN, and Dell VxRail.
• Monitor system health and performance, prioritising high‑impact and high‑priority issues effectively.
• Create clear, structured technical documentation using standard tools to support team knowledge and operational consistency.
• Contribute to improving team processes, procedures, and overall service resilience.
• Collaborate with peers, providing guidance and support to junior team members.
• Participate in governance, risk, and control activities, including capacity planning, reporting, and cost awareness.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and apply industry best practices across implementation, configuration, security, and problem resolution tasks.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of VMware vSphere and associated technologies.
• Experience with enterprise VMware tools such as vRealize Operations Manager, vRealize Automation, vRealize Log Insight, and Site Recovery Manager.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco UCS infrastructure.
• Solid knowledge of storage technologies including VMware vSAN and Dell VxRail.
• Understanding of virtualisation architectures and experience supporting virtualised environments.
• Ability to work independently under pressure while delivering to agreed timescales.
• Strong documentation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with IBM storage technologies (block and file storage) and Spectrum Scale.
• Exposure to backup solutions such as Commvault.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Datadog).
• Awareness of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Linux command line knowledge.
• Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.

Additional Requirements

• Contractor must be eligible for BPSS clearance.
• Must be PAYE through an umbrella company.
