Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to support the mobilisation and early delivery phases of a new Telecoms Managed Service for a major UK provider. This is a critical role within the service transition programme, ensuring all software, hardware, connectivity, and security infrastructure are fully operational and ready for Service Go-Live.

Reporting to the Service Transition Manager and Group Head of IT, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a robust IT foundation that enables a smooth transition from the incumbent provider while minimising disruption to this vital service infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the mobilisation and customisation of existing delivery platforms to support the new Managed Service requirements
  • Own and design client connectivity into the NMC / NOC environment, both remotely and on-site
  • Support the mobilisation of IT systems including:
    • NMC environments
    • Client interconnects
    • Spares and asset tracking platforms
    • Engineer scheduling and service management systems
  • Act as a key interface between the Service Transition Team, Client stakeholders, and Corporate IT
  • Work closely with the client’s IT teams to ensure all technologies and connectivity align with client standards
  • Provide post-Go-Live IT support, including a defined hypercare period for on-site teams and corporate IT stakeholders
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation for acceptance by Corporate IT and handover into BAU support
Experience Required
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise updates
  • A proactive, self-starting problem solver who can turn conceptual outcomes into practical solutions
  • Confident, articulate, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced delivery environment
  • Demonstrable experience deploying:
    • Field Operations / scheduling systems
    • ITSM platforms
    • Asset tracking solutions
    • NMC / NOC environments (e.g. Helix, Sage X3, or equivalent platforms)
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to adjust approach as requirements evolve
  • Willing and able to travel at short notice and spend time on-site to support hardware and connectivity understanding
  • Comfortable undertaking out-of-hours work during the hypercare period
