A national policing unit in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic Information Governance Officer to support information management and data protection efforts. The successful candidate will engage with various stakeholders, maintain Information Sharing Agreements, and conduct Compliance Audits. This role requires attention to detail and current knowledge of the data protection sector, providing crucial support to various departments while helping to ensure compliance with data protection principles.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, to join our Information Governance team, with the ability to work dynamically across a range of information management tasks as well as with others across the organisation. The role of Information Governance Officer will support the identification of solutions to information management and data protection scenarios within a national policing unit working to ensure safer communities in the UK and around the world.
The successful candidate will become part of a wider team providing knowledge and support to all ACRO departments in matters relating to information management and data protection, including the reporting and safeguarding of any data breach events. The post holder will have an eye for detail, maintain their knowledge of the data protection sector and news events, providing support to the Data Protection Officer, Information Manager and Information Governance Supervisor.
The role is also responsible for the maintenance of ACRO’s Information Sharing Agreements, and the facilitation of Court Orders received into the organisation, both tasks afford regular engagement with external stakeholders.
The role holder will also be involved in regular Compliance Audits supporting ACRO maintain compliance with the data protection principles in all of its processing activities.
