Job summary

A leading international professional services firm is seeking a Senior Privacy Lawyer to join their team in London with hybrid working options. This role involves advising on global data protection obligations, reviewing data agreements, and supporting operational privacy workstreams. Ideal candidates are qualified privacy lawyers with strong grounding in UK/EU data protection law, confident in explaining complex issues, and experience in a global environment. Exposure to AI and legal tech is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience gained in-house or in private practice, ideally in a complex global environment.
• Exposure to AI, legal tech or advanced data-driven systems is preferred but not essential.
• Language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on global data protection obligations across the UK, EU and other jurisdictions.
• Support operational privacy workstreams including DSARs, data incidents and DPIAs.
• Review and negotiate data protection and data transfer agreements.
• Partner with internal legal teams on privacy issues.
• Support delivery of firm-wide AI related privacy projects and compliance.
• Stay informed on regulatory and market developments in privacy.

In House Counsel - Senior Privacy Lawyer - London - Hybrid

We are working with aleading international professional services firm who are scaling up to anexcitingSenior Privacy Lawyerhire.

This is a genuinely interesting in-house privacy role sitting at the heart of the organisation, working closely with theGlobal DPO and the senior privacy leadership, and acting as a trusted advisor to both legal and non-legal stakeholders across the business.

This is not a narrow policy role. You will be hands-on working on operational privacy work with real exposure to live issues, complex projects and senior decision-making.

What the role looks like in practice:

• Advising onglobal data protection obligationsacross the UK, EU and other jurisdictions
• Supporting operational privacy workstreams includingDSARs, data incidents and DPIAs
• Reviewing and negotiating data protection and data transfer agreements (including SCCs and TIAs)
• Partnering with internal legal teams to support client-facing and internal privacy issues
• Supporting the delivery of firm-wideAI related privacy projects,privacy compliance projects, training and templates
• Staying close to regulatory and market developments in privacy, cyber and emerging technology.

You will

• be aqualified privacy lawyer(England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction) with experience gainedin-house or in private practice, ideally within a complex or global environment.
• have strong technical grounding acrossUK/EU data protection lawwith broader international exposure
• be comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with a wider privacy team;
• be pragmatic, commercial and confident explaining complex privacy issues to non-lawyers; and
• preferably (although not essential) havePrivacy certifications (e.g. IAPP), have enjoyed exposure toAI, legal tech or advanced data-driven systems andlanguage skills.
