A leading civil engineering firm in the UK is seeking an experienced In-house Construction Solicitor to join their Glasgow office. You will draft, negotiate, and advise on various construction contracts for large-scale projects. Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of PQE in construction law and experience with major agreements. The role offers a competitive salary of £80-100k along with a pension contribution and a hybrid working arrangement.

Role — In-house Construction Solicitor / Legal Counsel: Working as a member of our client’s in-house legal team, the In-house Construction Solicitor / Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, reviewing and advising on standard form and bespoke construction contracts, major framework agreements, and joint ventures related to a wide array of large-scale projects, including matters overseas.
The role is based at the company’s Glasgow office; however you will work with commercial and legal colleagues across the Group, both in the UK and internationally.
We are seeking a Scottish or England & Wales qualified solicitor with circa 5+ years’ PQE in construction / infrastructure, and preferably (but not necessarily) with experience of working on transport, energy or water related projects.
Experience of drafting, reviewing and advising on JCT, NEC, FIDIC, other major framework agreements, and large-scale project matters is essential.
Applicants should possess a strong desire to work in-house, and you should be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced and expanding business.
Existing international experience is desirable but not essential.
The role of In-house Construction Solicitor comes with a circa £80-100k basic (depending on PQE and experience) plus 5% employer pension contribution, life assurance, and the possibility of a discretionary bonus.
