Overview

Job Title: ICT Technician

Our teams support academies across England and make a difference to children’s educational experience.

The Role

The ICT Technician is a pivotal role that encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities related to the school’s IT infrastructure. This role requires technical proficiency, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service and support to all users. The purpose of this role is to assist in delivering reliable and efficient ICT systems and provide comprehensive ICT support for Academy staff and students.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the ICT Helpdesk effectively and respond to/resolve calls within agreed timescales.
  • Provide support for ICT queries with escalation to third party suppliers when necessary.
  • Assist with the maintenance of ICT hardware and equipment to the required levels including repair where appropriate.
  • Maintain the detailed inventory and asset register for all hardware, software, cabling, consumables and system diagrams.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Recognised ICT qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Maths & English GCSEs grades 4-9 (A-C) - Desirable.
  • Knowledge of software and hardware e.g., Microsoft Office, networking software, modems, internet, etc.
  • Ability to ‘look outside’ – to continually learn about innovations in your field, new ways of doing things, and bring that learning into your work.
  • Understand how you are part of your immediate team but also a wider organisational team, working towards our mission.
Pay

Pay scale: SCP12 - SCP16 - £28,598.00 - £30,518.00
