We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Casting Operative to join our growing team. This will be working on our morning shift where you will be working 5 days per week between Monday and Saturday 6am-2m.

In a nutshell you will be responsible for:

Your role is to start the process of making a luxury Sink following the Shaws of Darwen S.O. P’s. Taking pride in your work you will use a clay mixture to pour into a mould ready to be dried and then de-moulded. These beautiful pieces are then sent to the finishing department.

What you are already great at:
  • Daily powdering of case and drum which involves preparing, powdering and ready-for-use
  • Take care and pride in the de-moulding process.
  • To help control RCS dust in your area with good housekeeping.
  • Push down clay to be in specification to help the moulding process.
  • Prepare casting moulds and cores, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Monitor the casting process, identifying and rectifying any potential issues
  • Always follow SOP standards as trained.
  • Use of mould-handling equipment
  • Ensuring that housekeeping standards are always met through regular area cleaning.
  • Communicating any material defects, unsafe practices, or equipment to the Departmental team Leader.
  • Understanding the process, they are responsible for, and the impact of its failures.
  • You will be doing mould replacement
