Job description
Overview

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, committed nurse who is able to independently undertake outpatient hysteroscopy. The successful candidate will be passionate about developing a patient-centred hysteroscopy and suspected cancer service, and will have excellent clinical knowledge and leadership skills. The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team across gynaecology, on both our Trust sites.

You will be able to work independently and unsupervised as a specialist nurse, demonstrating advanced levels of clinical judgment, discretion and clinical decision making. The post also provides opportunity for personal development within the speciality and to develop operational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Work independently and unsupervised as an expert practitioner in performing diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy procedures, demonstrating advanced levels of clinical judgment, discretion and clinical decision making.
  • Undertake holistic assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care in accordance with National Guidance as an experienced specialist practitioner in the field of Hysteroscopy Services.
  • Assist hysteroscopy training and education to other colleagues (medical/nursing) to enhance clinical practice and improve patient care.
  • Focus on improving patient-centred care and the overall experience within the outpatient hysteroscopy department.
  • Support the Lead Hysteroscopist with development and review of evidence-based local guidelines, management and maintenance of policies, and development of the hysteroscopy service.
  • Support the acquisition of data to support clinical audits and outcomes in line with BSGE national standards.
  • Undertake audits, policy changes and ensure Trust practices are aligned with national guidance.
  • Support the Lead Hysteroscopist and other hysteroscopists within the Trust in the delivery of the hysteroscopy service.
  • Support research in the clinical area.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Be an experienced specialist practitioner with expert knowledge and skills in hysteroscopy services, undertaking holistic assessment and care planning in accordance with national guidance.
