Job description
Overview

Mixture of remote and assessment centre working, offering an exceptional work-life balance.

Are you a qualified Nurse, Physiotherapist, Paramedic, Pharmacist or Occupational Therapist seeking a genuine work-life balance and a chance to thrive in a brand new healthcare environment, whilst both utilising and developing your clinical skills?

As a Functional Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit, as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). The funding helps support individuals to live as much of an independent life as possible. You will be completing assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, with some assessments conducted remotely.

An in-depth training programme is provided which is fully paid for, so you will feel equipped for your new role. This role counts towards your clinical hours and helps you maintain your registration.

Responsibilities
  • Use your clinical experience to understand how a wide range of health conditions affect daily living and independence.
  • Conduct assessments in office, home, or remote settings (telephone, video, or face-to-face).
  • Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making.
Requirements
  • Qualified Nurses, Physiotherapists, Paramedics, Pharmacists or Occupational Therapists are eligible to apply.
  • NMC/HCPC registration is required.
  • At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
  • Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and strong IT competency.
Benefits
  • Generous annual leave package plus bank holidays.
  • Hybrid working with flexible patterns to support work-life balance.
  • Collaborative and dynamic working environment.
  • Fully paid training programme.
  • Opportunities for development and progression.
