Human Resource Officer
We are a family business operating a poultry and meat cutting site based in the heart of Bradford and serve various sectors such as the wholesale, retail and the hospitality sector.
We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate to fulfil our Human Resources role. Situated in a large catchment area in Bradford, the company has experienced growth in various sectors. As a result, we have experienced a high turnover of staff and therefore are looking for a competent person to take lead and stabilise all human resource issues.
Responsibilities
- The development of a robust recruitment & selection process that can reduce staff turnover and create clear lines of communication from HR to all areas of the business and management.
- Responsible for interviewing new potential employees.
- To develop a best practice culture in food and general health & safety at work by working with employees and the technical staff.
- Negotiating staff remuneration through merit and performance, managing staff absences and determining staff performance and appraisals through incentivised gains as well as overseeing disciplinary and grievance procedures of staff.
- To develop creative training packs including food safety, fire and general health & safety, employee induction packs, skill and training matrix that will facilitate general staff training.
- To work closely with key managers in all areas of the factory floor including the technical staff to ensure all staff including managers are sufficiently trained and enriched through educational training and developing food safety awareness.
- To develop/augment HR based policies and procedures that are/ to be implemented.
- To engage with staff for its annual questionnaire to establish organisational needs from the staff perspective.
- The candidate is expected to engage in any complex matters regarding management and staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must have a minimum of one year’s experience in an office role capacity.
- Ability to utilize IT based systems.
- Document control and keeping is essential.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft platform.
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to greet scheduled and ad hoc visitors around the site.
- Working independently but must liaise closely with production based key staff.
- Must have the ability to assert authority when needed.
- The ability to clearly convey written communications.
- Must be able to problem solve.
- Must adhere to strict time management policy.
- To work closely with production manager for day to day production.
