People & Culture Business Partner

Location: Group Professional Services Office, Ballymena

Work Pattern: Office-based with regular travel to our Delivery Office in London, Kings Cross

Employment Type: Full-Time

Dowds Group is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking People & Culture Business Partner to join our team. This is a varied and impactful role, offering the opportunity to shape the employee experience across our organisation while working from our busy Ballymena office and collaborating regularly with our London-based teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead People Operations across the group, ensuring a consistently positive and compliant employee experience, including:
    • Recruitment & Selection
    • Employee Compliance & Record Keeping
    • Employee Relations (ER)
    • Performance & Productivity Management
    • Employee Engagement
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate processes, enabling greater focus on people rather than paperwork.
  • Champion employee development by supporting performance and capability growth.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance Dowds’ employer brand, including strategic initiatives such as the Dowds Academy.
  • Partner with the Leadership Team to drive transformation while preserving our strong culture of putting Clients and People at the heart of everything we do.
Person Specification
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a HR role, ideally ready to step up into a Business Partner position.
  • CIPD Associate Membership and a minimum of CIPD Level 5 qualification, with clear evidence of ongoing professional development aligned to the CIPD Profession Map.
  • Proven project management skills, ideally with SCRUM experience and a track record of delivering change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and facilitate effectively.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and regulations in both Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
