Qualifications

Job description

As a result of significant growth, United Infrastructure Transmission & Distribution is seeking a HSE Lead based in the Inverness region to provide support, assurance, and advice on all matters relating to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment on a permanent, staff basis. HSE experience within an Overhead Lines, Underground Cabling and Civils environment is preferable although not essential. In this role, you will be offering on-site HSSE support for multiple electricity Transmission and Distribution projects across northern Scotland. The HSE Lead is responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on matters pertaining to Health & Safety, Security, and Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policy and Management System and Client requirements, thereby reducing risks to the business.

Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site HSSE support for multiple electricity Transmission and Distribution projects across northern Scotland.
  • Support, carry out assurance activities and incident investigations.
  • Roll out Company HSSE objectives, develop specific HSSE objectives for projects, and roll out HSSE campaigns and initiatives.
  • Lead high potential (Level 1) incident investigations, provide support higher potential (Level 2) investigations and generate lessons learned and SMART corrective actions.
  • Undertake visits to Project facilities and worksites and provide constructive reviews of the status.
  • Develop and ensure the implementation of HSSE Management Plans.
  • Provide regular performance reports to the Project Management team and T&D UK HSSE Manager.
  • Undertake leading and lagging indicator analysis for the business and provide business-wide alerts.
  • Provide an HSSE focal point for clients.
  • Provide training and mentorship for new recruits into the HSSE team.
Qualifications
  • Level 4 Certificate in Health & Safety (minimum) or Level 6 Diploma in Health & Safety or higher (desirable).
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
  • Incident Investigation Training.
  • Lead / Senior HSE Advisor with project and corporate experience in transmission and distribution, oil and gas or other related industry.
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK legislation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain management systems.
  • Ability to undertake investigations and establish causal factors and root causes and then develop suitably detailed investigation reports including corrective/preventative actions.
  • Ability to develop training and campaign materials.
  • High level of communication skills (both written and spoken) and ability to use them effectively across all aspects of the business.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Competent MS Office suite user.
