Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design phase. You will coordinate interfaces across Track systems, main works contractors, and alliance partners, while leading design coordination and governance across multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires extensive rail systems design experience, strong leadership, and a track record in large-scale infrastructure programmes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience working within contractor-led, design and build or alliance delivery environments is preferred.
• Experience working within large-scale rail infrastructure programmes.
• Experience managing external design organisations and consultant teams.
• Strong understanding of design management processes within major rail or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of health and safety in design principles and CDM processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical interfaces between Track systems, Main Works Contractors and Alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs produced by partners and third parties.
• Chair and facilitate design coordination meetings, workshops and reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress and ensure delivery in line with client requirements and milestones.
• Coordinate and promote Health and Safety in Design principles across rail systems disciplines.
