Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure project at the initial design phase. You will coordinate interfaces, lead spatial coordination, and manage design governance with alliance members to deliver on cost and schedule.

The role requires extensive rail systems experience, leadership skills, and a strong background in safety and system safety coordination within large infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration and coordination.
• Experience in contractor-led, design-and-build or alliance environments.
• Experience managing external design organisations and consultant teams.
• Strong understanding of design management processes in large rail projects.
• Knowledge of safety assurance and design governance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interfaces between Track systems, main works contractors and alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs and manage design clashes.
• Coordinate and monitor technical assurance activities.
• Promote Health and Safety in Design across disciplines.
• Coordinate system safety activities and ensure safety requirements are integrated.
