Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager for the HS2 Track infrastructure project. The role focuses on systems integration, design management and interface coordination across alliance partners, with governance and safety at the core.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage design interfaces, and drive robust design coordination to meet client requirements and milestones. Based from London or Birmingham offices, with an emphasis on collaborative delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading rail systems design and integration in large programmes.
• Proven ability to manage design interfaces across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of design management processes in major rail projects.
• Ability to lead and coordinate stakeholders and external design organisations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interfaces between Track systems, main works contractors and alliance members.
• Lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs produced by partners and third parties.
• Coordinate and monitor design assurance activities and governance.
• Promote Health and Safety in Design across disciplines and ensure CDM compliance.
• Coordinate system safety activities and ensure risk-aware design development.
