Framework HS&E Manager Environment

Location: United Kingdom (National travel required)

Purpose of the Role

As Framework HS&E Manager you will be a member of the framework senior leadership team and lead all Health Safety and Environmental (HS&E) aspects across the framework. You will be accountable for developing and executing the HS&E strategy and systems to ensure exemplary safety, health and environmental performance across all operations. Reporting to the Head of HS&E this is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring compliance consistency and continual improvement while influencing and supporting the wider HS&E strategy for the Environment business and Galliford Try Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and assure the HS&E strategy across the framework to drive continual improvement.
  • Foster an inclusive open and collaborative culture to enhance HS&E maturity and behavioural safety.
  • Proactively promote and embed our behavioural programme Challenging Beliefs Affecting Behaviours through site visits, leadership engagement and strategic planning.
  • Manage and assure the HS&E management system ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards.
  • Engage with key stakeholders including clients, supply chain partners, regulators and industry bodies to influence best practice.
  • Lead, develop and mentor the HS&E team, nurturing growth and supporting continual learning.
  • Develop, implement and report on HS&E strategy and KPIs using data analytics and performance metrics to drive improvements.
  • Deliver strategic reviews on performance and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Environment Division's HS&E direction.
  • Support the development of training development plans and HS&E learning programmes.
About You

You will be a confident and strategic HS&E leader capable of influencing and collaborating across a complex organisation to deliver excellence and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications
  • Extensive experience leading HS&E functions in a similar industry (infrastructure, water or regulated environment).
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering successful HS&E strategies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills from site level to board level.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Working knowledge of data analytics, reporting systems and performance metrics.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable
  • Member of IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH minimum CMIOSH preferred or working towards).
  • Experience leading HS&E in framework or alliance environments.
