This is a rewarding opportunity to lead a core mental health programme, shaping wellbeing and engagement across the organisation and supporting our wider people strategy.
The post holder will be responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of mental health awareness and wellbeing training programmes, with a particular focus on reducing stigma associated with mental health for staff and managers across the organisation. The role will lead on the Prevail Mental Health Programme, delivering training to all staff, including new starters, and ensuring content remains current, evidence‑based, and aligned with best practice. In addition, the post holder will design and deliver a range of HR training programmes, including leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and attendance management. Training will be informed by organisational priorities and tailored to meet the needs of individual directorates. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation to analyse workforce data, identify learning needs, and develop training solutions aligned with the corporate strategy and strategic people plans. The post holder will also contribute to the development and implementation of the agency‑wide HR People Plan, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and workforce priorities. Through this work, the role supports the organisation's Wellbeing Strategy, promoting a culture of inclusivity, openness and resilience.
Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 35 hours per week. This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non‑contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home‑based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements. The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location/visiting stakeholders. Occasional travel to other DVLA sites may be required to deliver training. This may involve overnight stays, and advance notice will be provided.
