Job Summary

Are you an experienced and pro‑active HR professional with a passion for supporting people?

We are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate person who wants to progress their career in HR/People Services and be an integral part of a small dynamic team to deliver a comprehensive service across the organisation and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

The innovative HR/People Services function provides support services to the wider agency. You will ensure HR practices align with policies and procedures and are in line with current employment legislation and are implemented consistently.

This is a generalist role with the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the HR function, including recruitment and assisting in data reporting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role by being the first point of contact for managers on HR related matters. You should be flexible in your approach, have the ability to manage a demanding workload and be able to work autonomously and make decisions within the remit of the role.

Following the successful completion of the induction period there is an opportunity for hybrid working. The post can be full‑time (37.5 hours) or part‑time (consulted). Office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities

To provide operational and administrative support in the delivery of all Alcohol & Drug Service people policies, procedures and systems. Support the Team Leader in providing professional support to managers across the ADS. Handle recruitment activities and assist with data reporting. Serve as the first point of contact for managers on HR related matters.

Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will hold a CIPD level 5 or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work independently, demonstrating self‑motivation while working collaboratively.
  • Must demonstrate adaptability and resilience, thriving in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Benefits & Compensation
  • Salary £25,905 to £31,611 a year, based on experience (DOE).
  • Generous annual leave: 29 days per annum, rising to 31 after 2 years and 34 after 5, plus public holidays.

Job Details

Salary: £25,905 to £31,611 per year.

Contract: Permanent.

Working pattern: Full‑time, part‑time, flexible working.

Location: Kingston House, Saxon Way, Hessle, HU13 9NJ.
