Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their trust, based in Surbiton, South London.

Job Purpose:

The HR Manager will play the lead role in the provision of a professional and efficient HR service to support the Executive Head, Heads and Senior Leadership Teams in the achievement of the Trust’s strategic development plan and overall business objectives.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the delivery of the day-to-day HR operational service and providing support and guidance to colleagues in all areas of the Trust.
  • Delivering HR related projects as set out and agreed with the Executive Head, Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) and the Governors from time to time.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Employee relations and performance management
  • Compliance to statutory, regulatory, and legislative requirements at all times
  • Recruitment and Selection strategies
  • HR Policy Development
  • Induction and staff development processes support Trust objectives and are based on best practice
  • Advising on Salaries and benefits across the Trust to DFO and Executive leadership
  • Supporting the Whole Trust across its aims and core values

Person Specification:

  • Relevant HR-related qualification at degree or master level or CIPD level 5 or above; or the equivalent.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a standalone role or as part of a small HR team where they have dealt with the full breadth of HR from administration through to strategic projects. Experience working in a school is an advantage.
  • Staff management and assuming responsibility for workload allocation.
  • Providing professional advice and support to senior managers on strategic and operational HR matters, interpreting HR policies, procedures, conditions of service and relevant legislation.
  • Evidence of ability and experience of supporting managers to improve business and people performance.
  • Leading HR projects and implementing new initiatives.
  • Comfortable in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and experience of using an HR database, accessing data and compiling reports.
  • Excellent up to date knowledge of employment legislation.
  • Good commercial / business awareness and understanding.
  • Preferably have a Driving license and Vehicle
