Job summary

A social justice charity based in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Housing Support Officer. You will assist residents with housing benefits, ensure properties are well-maintained, and work as part of a dedicated team. Qualifications

Overview

BDS are recruiting for an experienced Housing Support Officer for a social justice charity based in Southend. This is a 35 hours per week, temp-to-perm opportunity with late and early shift patterns (8:00–16:00 and 14:00–22:00). Pay rate is £14.61 per hour (PAYE) or £19.28 per hour (Umbrella).

Responsibilities

• Help residents with applying for Housing Benefits and paying rent, etc.
• Ensure properties meet expected standards for repair and cleanliness; maintain sharp attention to detail, ensure repairs are reported and actioned.
• Be allocated a number of properties to manage, working as part of a larger team to deliver the service across the region.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience within social housing and knowledge of Support Planning and welfare benefits/universal credit (advantageous).
• Driver with access to a vehicle.
• Enhanced Adult DBS (less than 12 months old or registered on the DBS Update Service) already in place prior to applying for this position.
