JustOT are recruiting for an HCPC registered experienced Occupational Therapist to work with our well-respected client based in Wokingham.

- Essential Requirements: HCPC registered; minimum 3 years social care experience as an OT
- Working Hours: full time 37 hours, Hybrid working
Responsibilities
- To work in accordance with the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 to assess, review or reassess the Housing Adaptations needs of customers, make and support recommendations for adaptations based on a functional assessment, and offer advice, guidance and access to support services in line with eligible needs, with emphasis on health, safety and wellbeing for vulnerable individuals and those that care for them.
- Adopt and promote a strengths-based approach and maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with individual customers and carers.
- Adopt a personalized approach to ensure dignity, address cultural background and communication needs, and listen to and acknowledge choices and aspirations.
- Have comprehensive working knowledge of adaptations and promoting accessible environments, including relevant building regulations and Disabled Facilities Grant.
- Assess for and order basic equipment/adaptations following major adaptations.
- Train and support staff, customers and family on the correct use of equipment or adaptations, adhering to Health and Safety legislation, local policies, procedures and manual handling regulations.
- Collaborate with the Housing Adaptations Team to ensure high-quality support for customers applying for Disabled Facilities Grants or having major adaptations carried out, including team case review meetings.
- Share good practice and provide specialist housing knowledge to customers and colleagues.
- Assist in updating and clarification of policies and procedures to ensure referral routes follow good practice guidance.
- Work with individuals, carers, families and other stakeholders to gather information for assessing and reviewing needs and identify best options to meet identified needs.
