Housing Support Worker – Refugees and asylum seekers | Leeds & Bradford

Salary: £27,647 | Hours: Full-time | Includes weekend on-call rota (additional payment + TOIL)

This Housing charity is seeking a compassionate and practical Housing Project Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting refugees and asylum seekers who are at risk of homelessness.

You'll play a key role in managing and maintaining our supported housing properties, ensuring safe, clean, and welcoming environments for residents. Working closely with our Housing Management Team, you will also support residents with tenancy-related needs and help resolve any housing issues that may arise.

Responsibilities
  • Regular property inspections, maintenance coordination, and minor repairs
  • Supporting residents with housing-related issues and community living
  • Managing safety standards, utilities, furnishings, and cleanliness
  • Liaising with contractors, landlords, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting smooth transitions for new residents, including viewings and inductions
Qualifications and Skills
  • Highly organised, empathetic, and proactive with a hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in housing or working with vulnerable groups is desirable
