Overview

The Grand Hotel Leicester is seeking a knowledgeable, detail orientated Hotel Accountant. You will report to the General Manager/ Finance Manager, supporting and working towards analysing financial information, preparing timely and accurate financial reports and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures at The Grand Hotel Leicester.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports.
  • Closing Procedures: Facilitates and completes monthly and yearly closing procedures.
  • Audit and Compliance: Drafts statutory financial statements, manages financial and tax audits, and prepares quarterly VAT returns.
  • Variance Analysis: Assists in variance analysis of actual versus budget and liaises with operational contacts.
  • Payroll Management: Ensures accurate and timely posting of monthly payroll, including PAYE & NIC, and reviews and approves payment runs.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Prepares monthly management reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and cashflow forecasts, and supports annual budget preparation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the use of financial systems, budgeting, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified / working towards qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt to a range of audiences.
  • Desirable: Background in hospitality or real estate, knowledge of hotel property management systems.
