Job description
Host Supervisor

Pay: Hourly rate £12.60 + £4.80–£5.50 per hour in Tronc (on average)

In addition to your standard hourly wage, you’ll receive a share of Tronc, which is 100% distributed to the team.

Pasture Cardiff is our bold second chapter — a true lockdown baby that’s grown into one of the city’s most vibrant dining destinations. Nestled in the heart of Cardiff, just steps from the iconic Cardiff Castle, the restaurant is built for theatre, energy, and unforgettable nights.

Our open kitchen puts live‑fire cooking at the heart of the experience, with charcoal grills and dry‑ageing cabinets on full display. On weekends, our resident DJ keeps the energy high late into the evening — because at Pasture, dining is a show, not just a meal.

We proudly source our beef from pasture‑raised cattle across Wales and the South West, working closely with local farmers and producers to bring the best of the region to the table. Our beautiful terrace in the city centre adds a unique alfresco edge — perfect for cocktails, people‑watching, and those long summer nights.

We’re looking for passionate, positive, and driven individuals to join our Cardiff crew — people who thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment and are ready to be part of something special. Sound like you? Come fire things up at Pasture Cardiff.

We’re looking for a confident and passionate Host Supervisor to join the front‑of‑house team at Pasture.

This is a key role at the heart of the guest experience, perfect for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, loves connecting with people, and knows how to stay calm, clear and in control when things get busy.

At Pasture, we serve the very best local produce with warmth, energy, and precision. Whether it’s a relaxed lunch, a business dinner, or a special occasion, we make every guest feel valued from the moment they walk through the door. As Host Supervisor, you’ll be leading that first impression, managing the flow of bookings, supporting the host team, and helping deliver the calm, confident welcome we’re known for.

You:

You’ll have experience working in restaurant reservations or guest‑facing hospitality roles, ideally with knowledge of SevenRooms or a similar system. You’re sharp, organised, and computer‑savvy, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You know how to keep cool under pressure and problem‑solve on the fly, all while keeping guests happy and your team supported.

This is a full‑time, people‑focused role where you’ll be part of a tight‑knit team who loves what they do and takes real pride in their work. You’ll support the Host Manager in training new team members, help guide smooth services, and play a big part in shaping the front‑of‑house atmosphere.

Benefits at Pasture:
  • The hourly rate shown includes a competitive share of Tronc: 100% of Tronc is distributed to the staff, usually giving approx. £4‑£5 per hour on top of the standard rate of pay
  • 28 days holiday - including bank holidays
  • 20% off food and drink in our restaurants for up to six people
  • Opportunity for growth and progression
  • Long service benefits
  • 1 day of paid volunteering per year, with a charity of your choice
  • Regular staff trips are arranged to our farm and to our suppliers
  • Employee assistance program provided by Hospitality Action
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity pay
  • Wagestream
  • Company events and parties

In a nutshell Pasture is about fine dining for everyone, with slick, engaging service, top‑quality food and a team whose knowledge is as strong as its passion.
