Homelessness & Housing Solutions Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Homelessness & Housing Solutions Officer to join a busy and committed housing service within the Public Sector and Government, supporting residents across the West Midlands.

As a Homelessness & Housing Solutions Officer, you will deliver high-quality, customer-focused housing advice and homelessness prevention services, managing complex caseloads in line with statutory duties under Part VI & VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. You will play a key role in preventing homelessness, securing sustainable housing solutions, and ensuring decisions are legally robust and "right first time".

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a designated caseload of homelessness and housing applications from assessment to resolution.
• Complete detailed statutory assessments, write high-quality decision letters, and apply up-to-date case law.
• Secure and manage temporary accommodation placements in line with legislation and guidance.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies, and private sector landlords across West Midlands.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to performance monitoring and service improvement within the Public Sector and Government.

About You:

• Proven experience in homelessness prevention, housing options, or housing advice.
• Strong working knowledge of homelessness legislation and statutory duties.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
• Resilient, customer-focused, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
