Qualifications

  • Track record or personal experience in SEND, education, health or social care.
  • Professional, approachable and outcome focused.
  • Manage complex stakeholder conversations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual support to children and young people with SEND.
  • Help customers understand your role using eligibility criteria documents.
  • Explain relevant SEND legislation and policy when providing advice.
  • Identify barriers customers face to engage with SEND services.
  • Coach customers to self-advocate and take control of tasks.
  • Work advice shifts weekly on the helpline, providing information.
  • Maintain accurate records and database updates on cases.
  • Cultivate professional relationships for positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to content development for the SENDIASS website.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in special educational needs
Ability to manage complex conversations
Competent in Outlook and Microsoft packages
Full UK driving license

Education

Qualification in SEND law or willingness to achieve ISPSEA SEN Law Training
