Overview

Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Start Date: Sept 2025 - end of academic year
Location: Southwark, London - excellent transport links!
Type: 33.75 hours per week. 4 days 8:30 - 3:45 and 1 day 9am-6pm

Salary: 110 per day which may increase after 12 weeks

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or ECT (Early Career Teacher) looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive primary school environment? We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a small Primary School in Kennington, Southwark to support children in a Year 2/ 3 class.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering learning to individuals, small groups and whole class as and when required
  • Lead class and delivering curriculum for all planned absences and allow time for class teacher to plan and mark
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Ideal Candidate
  • Either a Level 4 + qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role such as a Early Career Teacher
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to fostering student growth and development.
