Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Integrated Stroke Early Supported Discharge and Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service.

It is an exciting time to be working in the Stroke ESD and Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service as we continue to develop the excellent standard of neuropsychology provision that we offer. I love working as a Clinical Psychologist in the service because the team are skilled and supportive, the rehabilitation our patients receive is excellent, and it makes me proud to be a part of this.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a clinical caseload across Cambridgeshire, delivering evidence-based specialist psychology programmes for patients with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Psychology Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Specialist Nurses and Neuro Rehab Assistants.
  • Provide care in varied settings: patient homes, wards, and via virtual consultations, and offer clinical cover across the county when required.
  • Apply evidence-based practice to ensure effective and appropriate clinical care, promote patient independence, and provide holistic specialist assessment using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
  • Maintain accurate and timely written records, report issues, and initiate and coordinate case conferences to support integrated care and planning.
  • Offer specialist neurological advice to the multidisciplinary team and service users, and communicate changes to current care plans and patient progress.
  • Adhere to Trust and HCPC guidelines, demonstrate a strong working knowledge of national and local standards, and use professional judgement to implement best practice and legislation.
