Academics is working with a fantastic primary school in Waltham Forest, London, looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full‑time role starting in January 2026.

This 2‑Form Entry school can offer teacher training for September 2026 for those aspiring to develop as a primary teacher.

As an HLTA you will collaborate with teachers to plan, deliver lessons and learning activities across EYFS, KS1 & KS2. You will cover lessons during PPA and release time and support teaching and learning activities to help all children achieve their individual educational outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver lessons and learning activities across EYFS, KS1 & KS2.
  • Cover lessons during PPA and release time.

  • Facilitate a personalised and aspirational education for children in small groups or one‑to‑one settings.
  • Support the delivery of a bespoke, creative curriculum.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Ideally hold the HLTA qualification or a relevant education degree.
  • More than 1 year of experience as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience as an HLTA or similar role.
  • Experience covering classes or delivering interventions.
  • Experience working with SEN and all abilities.
