Job description

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic special education needs school on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year.

Our school is a vibrant, inclusive provision that supports students with cognition and learning needs and autism.

The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting, delivering, and planning lessons, working closely with teachers to ensure that all pupils are able to make strong progress. You will help students to develop essential skills and, where appropriate, gain accreditation that supports their transition into later life.

Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of high-quality learning experiences
  • Work effectively with individuals and small groups of pupils
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment
  • Help pupils to develop independence, confidence, and life skills
  • Experience of leading a classroom (secondary or SEN provisions would be desirable)
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
  • Show a clear awareness and understanding of the needs of students with special educational needs
  • Evidence a good standard of education, with appropriate literacy and numeracy skills
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Bring a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and drive to their role
