Overview

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter - Beenham, Reading

Join a fast-paced team in Beenham maintaining a diverse fleet of HGVs and trailers. We are looking for skilled HGV Technicians / HGV Mechanics / HGV Fitters to carry out inspections, repairs, and MOTs while developing your career with ongoing training and competitive pay.

Location: Beenham, near Reading RG7
Salary: Competitive with bonus scheme
Hours: 44.75 hours per week, Mon-Fri 7am-4.30pm, plus alternate Sat mornings 7am-11.30am
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, service, repair and prepare HGVs and trailers for MOT
  • Diagnose faults on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
  • Complete paperwork and job sheets accurately
  • Provide roadside support as required
  • Adhere to health & safety regulations
  • Mentor and support apprentice technicians
  • Flexible working to cover other depots as needed
Skills and Qualifications
  • Essential
    • City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 in HGV maintenance or equivalent
    • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics
    • Good understanding of health & safety
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Desirable
    • HGV Class 2 licence with CPC card and digital tachograph
    • Experience with manufacturer diagnostic systems
    • Mentoring or training experience
