Job summary

A leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in Blyth is seeking an experienced HGV Technician. You will be responsible for high-standard repairs, assisting in fault diagnosis, and servicing customer vehicles. This role offers competitive pay of £16-£18 per hour, up to 33 days of holiday, a contributory pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working on HGVs or completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry.
  • Ability to carry out repairs according to Volvo procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures.
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
  • Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
  • Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license).
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns.
  • Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately.

Job description

Salary: £16-£18 per hour dependent on experience.

Shifts: Dayshift: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:30

Backshift: Monday - Friday - 13:30 - 22:00

Saturday is OT 08:00 - 12.00 – Usually worked on the week of Backshift.

Alternate weeks.

What you'll do:
  • Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process
  • Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
  • Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns.
  • Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
  • Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
  • Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
  • Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices

Who are you?

Do you hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and have previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed anapprenticeship in the HGV industry?
