Job summary

An automotive recruitment company is seeking an HGV Technician to maintain and repair vehicles in compliance with DVSA standards. The successful candidate will perform routine servicing and manage complex mechanical and electrical repairs.   • Maintain detailed records of all work, including parts and time.

Job Title : HGV Technician

Salary : £48,000 - £54,000

Overtime paid at 1.3x

As HGV Technician you will responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles to ensure that vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations. Technicians work on a range of tasks, from routine servicing to complex mechanical and electrical repairs, ensuring vehicles are fit for operation.

What you'll do as the HGV Technician :
  • Routine servicing, repair and maintenance of the PSV Fleet to highest DVSA standards
  • Be first point of contact for in depth fault finding and repairs on various bus types.
  • SME (Subject Matter Expert) in Mechanical and Electrical fault finding.
  • Be fully conversant with the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems including engine management, automatic / semi-automatic gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, multiplex wiring systems and E.C.U.
  • Carry out projects / trials on behalf of the Engineering Director and / or Technical Manager
  • Maintain detailed records of all work carried out, including parts used and time taken.
  • Fully comply with all HS&E legislation and group policies.
