Overview

Quest Medical are one of the UK's leading providers of logistics and maintenance services to the mobile medical industry.

Quest Medical UK Ltd are looking to employ an HGV/Trailer Technician to continue with the growth of the company, in what is a demanding yet rewarding time for the medical sector at present. The position is based around a 45-hour working week Monday to Friday 8am-5pm, with a one hour unpaid lunch break. It is based in Heyford just outside of Bicester and will include on-site repairs and servicing work throughout the UK on occasion.

The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance and repair of heavy commercial vehicles and trailers, with appropriate City & Guilds, NVQ or B/TEC qualifications. Not having these qualifications will not exclude you from consideration. Experience with Mobile Medical trailers and/or Tridec steering systems is advantageous but not essential. A HGV C+E licence would also be beneficial.

Essential is proven experience of working on Volvo FH's and DAF XF's, along with being trustworthy, proactive, safety-conscious and able to work under time pressure to achieve a high standard of repair.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine maintenance and repair of a predominant DAF XF fleet to VOSA Standards to maintain a high MOT pass rate.
• Routine inspections and repair of mobile medical trailers, including full annual inspections and hub/brake strip downs.
• Carrying out repairs to high standards; diagnostics and repair of trailer ABS/EBS systems.
• Maintenance and repair of TRIDEC steering systems.
• Working on hydraulic landing leg systems.
• Diagnostics and repair of vehicle/trailer electrical systems.
• Occasional on-site maintenance and breakdowns at leading hospitals and locations throughout the UK.
• Diagnostics and repairs of on-board generator engines.
• Ensure all paperwork and reports are completed in a timely manner.
