Job description

We are working on behalf of our prestigious client, who have been in business since the early 1900's and are the UK's market leader in the manufacture of waste management vehicles. Their famous brand name is visible on the front of leading waste management company cabs everyday across the United Kingdom's streets. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic multi‑disciplined HGV Technician to join their Croydon team.

Job Purpose

To service, maintain and repair vehicle chassis, body, and specialist mounted equipment according to the manufacturer's specifications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day service and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles
  • Run diagnostics on vehicles using a range of equipment
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times
  • Carry out routine vehicle inspections, routine maintenance, fault finding and repairs
  • Complete technical training when required
  • Complete relevant documentation
  • Provide industry‑leading customer service
  • Carry out HGV MOT inspections and preparations
HGV Technician, Croydon
  • Salary: up to £52,000.00 pa DOE (plus overtime)
  • Overtime paid at 1.5× Monday‑to‑Friday and Saturday, 2× Sunday and Bank holidays plus day in lieu
  • Location: Croydon
  • Hours: 45 hours per week, 9 hours per day between 06:30 and 16:00 Monday‑to‑Friday
  • Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
