Job summary

A leading engineering consulting firm in the UK is looking for a Historic Environment Consultant to join their Climate and Sustainability Services team. The role involves preparing technical documentation, managing archaeological fieldwork, and providing consultancy across various projects. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Archaeology, relevant experience, and GIS skills. The position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects while contributing to the preservation of the historic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or master’s degree in Archaeology or related subject; CIfA membership preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Sound knowledge of UK legislative framework and its application to historic projects.
  • Experience with Historic Environment DBA and EIA chapters.
  • Experience managing archaeological fieldwork projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare heritage technical documentation, including assessments and EIA chapters.
  • Design and oversee archaeological fieldwork and contractor monitoring.
  • Manage fieldwork projects and bespoke archaeological strategies.
