Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in the City of London is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Major Trauma Ward team. The role involves assisting with patient admissions, preparing them for procedures, and supporting trained nurses in providing high-quality patient care. This position is pivotal in facilitating a positive patient experience and ensuring seamless operational support within the ward.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting nursing duties such as phlebotomy and ECG.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure a positive patient experience.

Job description

The postholder will work as part of the Major Trauma Ward team and has a responsibility for assisting with the admission, discharge and preparation of patients for investigations and procedures, and facilitating enhanced care for neuro-rehabilitation patients. The post holder will be required to act independently and as part of the team.

  • Facilitate the reception of patients being admitted for elective procedures/ emergency procedures.
  • Prepare patients for and transfer patients to theatre.
  • Support trained nurses with patient care including phlebotomy, ECG's, basic wound care & nursing documentation and enhanced.
  • To support the line manager with operational, administrative and development of the ward.
  • Ensure a positive patient experience for patients in surgery and undertake allocated audits to improve service.
  • To be high profile and visible, co-ordinating the smooth running of the ward to achieve departmental, Care Group and Trust objectives, supporting the staff team and ensuring a patient-focused delivery and high quality service, We expect all our staff to share the values that are important to the Trust, being Excellent, Kind, Responsible and Respectful and behave in a way that reflects these.
