Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Healthcare Solicitor to join a respected NHS Trust Legal Team in Salisbury. This role allows for impactful in-house work in healthcare law, focusing on various legal responsibilities including clinical negligence claims and high court applications. Ideal candidates will be qualified solicitors with healthcare law experience, and the role offers hybrid working and flexible hours. The contract is for 3 months with extending potential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide healthcare advice on consent, capacity, and data protection.
  • Manage in-house High Court applications for cost savings.
  • Handle complex childcare cases and support police in proceedings.
  • Manage clinical negligence and third-party claims for the Trust.
  • Support and represent staff at Coroner’s Court.

Service Care Solutions is delighted to be recruiting for a Healthcare Solicitor to join a highly respected NHS Trust Legal Team in Salisbury. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a broad, influential in‑house role where your expertise drives safer care, reduced risk, and major cost savings.

Healthcare Solicitor – NHS Trust

Location

Wiltshire – Hybrid/Remote

Umbrella Rate

£40‑£45ph

PAYE Inc Rate

£35.40 – 39.75ph

Contract Length

3 months with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities
  • Healthcare Advice: consent, capacity, data protection, Mental Health Act, regulatory issues, adult and children’s services.
  • Manage High Court applications in‑house for significant savings.
  • Disclosure Requests: support police and local authorities in childcare and criminal proceedings; handle complex childcare matters at the South West regional centre for children.
  • Claims Management: manage clinical negligence & third‑party claims under NHSR schemes; work closely with clinicians to robustly defend Trust interests.
  • Inquests: support and represent staff at Coroner’s Court; liaise with local coroners on a substantial inquest portfolio.
Key Requirements
  • A qualified solicitor (in England and Wales) with significant experience in health‑care law and a current practising certificate.
  • Ideally experience working for an NHS Trust in‑house legal team previously.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
