A leading healthcare institution in the UK is looking for a qualified Healthcare Scientist specializing in Gastrointestinal Physiology and Urodynamics. This role involves conducting a range of clinical investigations, assisting in diagnosing GI conditions, and developing service improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant Master’s degree and AGIP accreditation, with experience in both GI Physiology and Urodynamics. Anopportunity has arisen for a qualified Healthcare Scientist (GastrointestinalPhysiology & urodynamics specialisms) to join the GI Physiology andUrodynamics team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Applications from those who arenewly qualified STPs in GI Physiology, and those who will qualify this yearin these specialisms are encouraged.
Thesuccessful candidate will play a role in providing a comprehensive range ofclinical investigations in GI Physiology including High Resolution Manometry,pH/Impedance monitoring and Endoanal ultrasound to assist in the diagnosis ofgastrointestinal conditions to patients from within the Leeds TeachingHospitals Trust and the wider region, while also assisting in the developmentof the service to meet the need of service users. In addition to this therewill be cross-specialism working in undertaking Urodynamic investigations -standard Cystometrogram (CMG Pressure/Flow Studies), and video Cystometrogram(VCMG).
TheDepartment of Gastrointestinal Physiology is a busy physiologist-led centreproviding an extensive range of clinical investigations of both upper andlower gastrointestinal function. The department serves the needs of the LeedsTeaching Hospitals NHS Trust and additionally provides a tertiary service tothe surrounding communities of Calderdale, North and West Yorkshire. The teamalso delivers an adult urodynamic service including video urodynamics to thedepartment of Urology at Leeds teaching Hospital

Undertakeinvestigation of the gastrointestinal tract (GI) using specialised diagnosticequipment, including analysis and clinical reporting on patients with a rangeof both upper and lower GI conditions in order to assist the consultant inthe diagnosis and treatment of range of disorders.
Inaddition, undertake the diagnostic investigations using specialisedurodynamic measuring equipment on patients with Genito-urinary conditions inorder to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of urological disorders.
Participatein developing service improvement and the quality-of-care provision withinboth GI Physiology & Urodynamics.
Betraining co-ordinatorassessor for trainees undertaking the National Schoolof Healthcare Science Scientist Training programme as well as providingtraining and clinical supervision to junior medical staff and assistantgrades and other healthcare professional as deemed necessary.
