Job Summary

Roseberry Park Hospital has an exciting opportunity within Adult Mental Health and PICU for Trainee Healthcare Assistants.

Within this role you will be working within Roseberry Park Adult inpatient Services. A facility which has been carefully designed and constructed to meet the very specific needs of the Adults with mental health difficulties. We have 4 Acute wards and 1 PICU covering assessment and treatment in mental health. There are opportunities to work across the different male and female groups (no guarantee of a specific ward if successful).

You will be required to be innovative, flexible and able to engage service users and their carers. Strong team working principles are essential; you will work with a variety of people as well as work in partnership with a range of disciplines and providers both internal and external to the service.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.
Main Duties

This is an exciting and challenging role and will afford the opportunity to work as part of a supportive team that is focused on delivering high standards of care through evidenced based practice.

We will support you by offering regular supervision, training opportunities and encourage your development and role within this team on the delivery of Patient Centred Care, support for carers and evidence based practice, working in a whole systems approach with our partner agencies.

Main Duties of the role is supporting the wards in delivering excellent patient care and assisting the Nurse in Charge in completing nursing tasks / jobs and care rounds / observations.

Job Responsibilities and Qualification Requirements

To apply as a qualified HCA you must hold:

  • NVQ / Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • Key skills in Literacy and Numeracy level 2
  • Have previous experience as a Band 2/3 HCA or equivalent in a care environment

Your qualification must be accredited (officially recognised). This gives assurance that your qualification has met standards set by external regulators. The awarding body (examinations board) must be recognised by either Ofqual (for England); CCEA (for Northern Ireland); Welsh Government (for Wales) or SQA (for Scotland). Some examples of the awarding bodies we use/accept for Health and Social Care are: City and Guilds, NCFE, Cache, NOCN, Pearson.

  • Successful completion of Trust's full HCA Framework within 6-month probationary period
  • Trainee Post: Diploma in Health and Social Care level 2 must be achieved within 2 years of commencement in post
  • Care Certificate must be achieved within 12 weeks of commencement in post
  • Successful completion of the Trust's full HCA Framework, including key skills in Literacy and Numeracy level 2, within 2 years of commencement in post
