Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Hewell, a Category B men's prison located in Worcestershire.

Hours: 30 hours per week on a 4 week rolling rota. Weekends included. 9.5 hour shifts (3 days a week).

Salary: This position is part time; you'll receive an annual salary up to £24,669 - £28,690 per annum FTE.

What youll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery

Qualifications required
  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
