Job description

Our client is a prominent and fast growing environmental organization known for providing outstanding service to clients including high profile clients. Due to consistent growth of the business and current business requirement, they are seeking for a smart, self-motivated and committed Health & Safety Consultant based in and around the Stockport area and will include applications from Aston-under-Lynne, Stretford, Hyde, Rochdale and the surrounding areas. This role entails travelling extensively.

Ideally, the applicant must come from a strong technical, consultancy, management, training, auditing, Health & Safety, asbestos and Legionella background.

Qualifications
  • Must possess the NEBOSH – IOSH certificates – Health & Safety qualifications. Holding other certificates would be beneficial.
  • Must have significant experience working within this role and within the Health & Safety industries. Having expertise in other industries would be beneficial.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, presentational, leadership, people management and client facing skills.
  • Must be fully conversant with the Health & Safety legislation.
  • Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package – Database.
Responsibilities
  • Delivering the Safety Management Systems (company).
  • Advising and getting involved with the Risk Assessment – surveying and fire and making recommendations and improvements.
  • Getting involved with the Method statement and tenders.
  • Undertaking Health & Safety risk assessments, auditing staff on site and dealing with all aspects of Health & Safety issues – IOSH appropriately and effectively.
  • Visiting the sites and undertaking various audits/inspections relating to the Health & Safety performance of the teams according to the company’s Health & Safety procedures.
  • Carrying out Health & Safety compliance audits – external and internal.
  • Providing technical support to the clients and managers.
  • Investigating accidents and taking appropriate action.
  • Liaising with the company’s high profile clients and advising them of their obligations.
  • Producing comprehensive Auditing, Health & Safety and environmental reports and documents.
  • Conducting Safety Training courses.
  • In general, the successful applicant will be flexible and confident and have the ability to carry out the role effectively and must be prepared to travel extensively.
