A regional college in England is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead their advisory team. Responsibilities include chairing the Health and Safety Committee, developing policies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. The ideal candidate will possess a NEBOSH certification and have excellent communication skills. Benefits include 50 days annual leave and access to a free gym membership.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead our small Health, Safety and Welfare Advisory Team to deliver a high‑quality service which ensures that the College environment is a safe and healthy place for all - students, apprentices, our staff and other users. Specific duties include: chairing the Health and Safety Committee and preparing health and safety reports as required for the Strategic Leadership Team and Governors; you will work closely and liaise with curriculum and support teams to ensure a high standard of health and safety, including carrying out specialist risk assessments and to advise and support others on the production of risk assessments; develop and maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures; and work with employers to ensure that work placements are safe, are monitored regularly and that appropriate documentation is maintained.

With an ability to promote a positive health and safety culture amongst staff, employers and students, you will possess the NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent, and have excellent knowledge of current health and safety legislation and proposed developments. Experience delivering health and safety advice within an educational environment is desirable, but not essential. You will be approachable and able to work with staff at all levels and possess an ability to influence people even those where there is no line management responsibility.
