Health Records Trainer/Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the very busy Health Records Department at Stepping Hill Hospital. The successful applicant will be a training and audit lead, supporting a fast‑paced reception and clinic preparation team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing full and comprehensive training for new starters and ongoing mentoring for existing staff across all reception and clinic preparation processes.
  • Undertaking regular quality audits in line with departmental guidelines for reception and clinic preparation, maintaining audit activity by the deadlines specified in the audit programme.
  • Participating in other audits (case note tracking and the ‘Refer to Treatment’ process) for the Health Records department as directed by the Management Team.
  • Providing general supervision for the Health Records teams and supervising support to the Health Records Management team when required to cover pressure periods and absences.
  • Flexibility with start and finish times may be required on occasion to support training requirements and covering for the on‑call rota for bank holidays.

Qualifications and requirements:>

  • Knowledge of Health Records procedures and systems, specifically Patient Centre, is essential.
  • Organised, numerate, methodical and thorough with an enthusiastic and motivated approach to work.
  • People skills and acceptance of constant changes in the workplace are essential.
  • Experience of staff management would be an advantage, but people and organisational skills are paramount.
  • Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.90 (deducted from first Trust salary); annual DBS subscription fee of £16.
