Health Care Assistant

Location: Middlesex - Ashford

Salary: £24,071 - £25,674 per annum, plus benefits

Responsibilities
  • Work within an integrated healthcare framework to deliver high standards of nursing care and psychosocial interventions to patients admitted to the service, in line with clinical protocols, policies and evidence based practice.
  • Deliver client-centred interventions alongside Registered Nurses as part of a multidisciplinary team, upholding professional standards at all times.
  • Assist the medical team with clinical assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of care, with or without direct supervision.
  • Support the medical team in monitoring and reporting the general physical, mental and psychological health and well-being of clients as required for medical detox.
  • Encourage behaviour change in the context of the 12 Step Treatment Programme and health promotion.
  • Carry out brief crisis interventions as required by medical or mental health need.
  • Attend community meetings and deliver code of conduct meetings explaining expectations of behaviour and rationale for boundaries.
  • Manage time effectively, prioritise work and allocated tasks to achieve desired outcomes with support from the registered nurses and multidisciplinary team.
  • Understand safety and security requirements when working within a prison setting.
  • Comply with enhanced DBS and HMPPS security vetting as part of probation-based roles; note that this process can take up to 3–6 weeks. Offers are subject to receiving both vetting and DBS clearances.
