Job description

Overview

Health Care Assistant at Northumberland Heath Medical Centre. Part‑time role working Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:00‑17:00.

Responsibilities

• New patient, routine and disability health checks.
• Chaperoning and laboratory sample processing.
• Vaccination management, cold‑chain storage and routine re‑stocking.
• Clearing and re‑stocking consulting rooms, surgical equipment and vaccine supplies.
• Assisting with minor operations and basic nursing treatments (dressings, stitches, urine testing, blood pressure).
• Basic immunisations (B12, flu).
• Domiciliary visits during flu season.
• Perform simple clinical tests as directed.
• Maintain accurate patient record updates on the computer.
• Participate in practice meetings and audits.
• Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and uphold confidentiality.

Qualifications

• GSCE grade A–C in English and Maths.
