Job summary

A leading logistics company in the UK is looking for a Health & Wellbeing Apprentice to support health initiatives. This is an exciting chance to gain hands-on experience while studying for a Degree-level qualification in Public Health. Responsibilities include assisting with health monitoring and designing wellbeing programs. Candidates should have GCSEs in English and Maths, and A-Levels in relevant fields are preferred.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above (or equivalent) are essential.
  • A-Levels or equivalent (Sports, Health, Wellbeing, or Science preferred).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Job description

The Health & Wellbeing Apprentice will support the HSQE department in delivering high standards of health surveillance and wellbeing initiatives across UK and French terminals. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while studying for a Degree‑level qualification in Health & Wellbeing. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, supporting initiatives that improve employee health and wellbeing across our UK and French operations. From monitoring health data to helping design wellbeing programmes, you’ll learn how evidence‑based approaches make a real difference in the workplace.

  • Assist in measuring, monitoring, and reporting on employee health and wellbeing needs and risks.
  • Access and use evidence‑based research to provide informed advice.
  • Support the design and management of programmes and projects to improve health and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to setting performance indicators and evaluating health‑related programmes and services.
  • Learn and apply behavioural science principles to promote positive health outcomes.
  • Engage stakeholders in service design and development to ensure accessible, equitable, person‑centred services.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the impact of health and care projects, including quality assurance.
  • Assist in implementing standards, protocols, and procedures aligned with national best practice guidance.
Qualifications and Experience
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above (or equivalent) are essential.
  • A-Levels or equivalent (Sports, Health, Wellbeing, or Science preferred).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Interest in health, wellbeing, or science.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to new challenges.
  • Proficiency in English is essential. The ability to communicate in French is an advantage.
Apprenticeship Programme
  • Programme: Public Health Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship
  • Provider: University of East London (UEL)
  • Duration: 3 years and 3 months
  • Format: Day release – one day per week at UEL Stratford campus
  • Qualification: Level 6 Degree in Public Health
